“You said the score will be increasing faster the closer to the object the player is. But that could be abused, just stay as close to the object as possible without triggering the mission completion.”
“Well, there would be a limited time… Because well, since you’re a news helicopter, you can’t really follow a car chase into a tunnel. Plus you can’t stay super close because of bullets flying around and stuff.“
“Alright, that’s a good point. I guess a linear increase in scoring speed would be the best here. Let’s say 100 points per second when in 100 meter vicinity of the targer, and decrasing by 5 per second per every 100 meters of distance, capped at 0.”

“Well, just about… Might have to do some tweaking, though… And well, we might have to do more of that later anyway, depending on how we want the helicopter controls to feel.“
He nods “Yeah, tweaking those controls will take a while, especially since you said something about different altitudes while we were on campus, will need to find a way to represent that well to a player”

When she finishes the script, she drags it on top of one of the objects and presses the play button to test if it works.

“Yep, that’s basically it. Oh and you can drag an object from the world to the same place where the scripts and assets are here at the bottom of the screen to make a prefab.“ she smiles

“Oh uhm… Well, it’s like with the space invaders thing I showed you before. I’m now making a script to control the player.“

Kate then proceeds to create a new clean project and turns it into a repository. Then she copies over the gitignore file from the test project “Alright. I guess this will work to get started.“
