This is pretty accurate for me too! It may not apply to all introverts.
this applies to me SO VERY WELL. part of the reason i always carry my headphones and a book around with me is so i can recharge and ignore things for a while.

An illustrative guide to understanding me, right here. It’s not that I ignore other people with my music and such, it’s that I’m introvertive. I’d love to spend time talking to the metric tonne of fun people on Skype. But I just don’t have the daily energy to do so.

Please don’t think I hate you if I shut up for a while. I promise it’s not because I hate you. It also is not a signal that I’m mad or anything like that.

So much this (the picture). I think some extroverted people don’t understand that introverts enjoy time alone sometimes (but not to be forever alone) and instead push them to be extroverted or cast them off as socally awkward. Some of my family is bad about this, and it makes me dread being around them. For example, my mom is an extrovert that loves to go out every day. If I’m around her, she’ll try to drag me out of the house with same tired excuse of “You need to get out more and make friends.” As a result, I’d rather spend time away from her. It’s sad because I love her, but she’ll never understand my (sometimes severe) introvertedness and instead criticize me about it and thus make us argue about it all the time.
And I don’t even know how an introvert like me can survive in the job world. Everything I know requires you to be social. I don’t know what I’m going to do except hope and pray vocational rehabilitation works (and pray hard because I need a miracle in my life right now).
I guess it kinda… fits? Didn’t even know the word introvert till now…
