“You mean, on a completely separate thread and not a part of the player’s own coding?” He asks
“I mean on a different object. One that’s not the player.“ she says
“Kinda what I meant, I partially expected all objects to run on different threads or something like that. And wouldn’t the best option in this case be the object that displays the score itself?”
“Uhm… Well, I don’t know if they’re in different threads… They might be, but I’m not sure…“ she says “And yes, that’s probably a good idea.“
“Well either way, they are executed separately, so they may as well just be function calls.” He nods
“Well, I’m not sure. I mean for every gameobject, an update method is called, which is handled in every script it has… But I’m not sure if it’s multithreaded.“
“Hmmm, I see. Well, it doesn’t really matter here, we are using Unity to NOT write our own engine after all” he chuckles
