I really just don’t get how people seem to miss that little fact. Take the terribleponies blog for example. While I can admit that there are some true eyesores on that blog, I’ve noticed that the mod has a tenancy to judge most OC’s just because they either 1.) have a non-pastel color scheme that’s not typical in the show, 2.) have a unique body pattern, or 3.) are some sort of pony hybrid. I’m sorry but since when is being unique and creative a bad thing? Obviously characters like Midnight Estelle and Cheshire Grin, for example, don’t fit the “show’s cannon style”, but why does that even matter? Last time I checked, people have the right to design their OC’s -whether they’re inspired by a cartoon or not- however they choose. That’s all a part of being unique and expressing yourself. Everyone’s entitled to their opinion, of course, but why does creativity have to be “shunned” just because it doesn’t fit the status quo?
