Yes, she came up with the idea and yes she has rights to it, however I find that it’s unfair for her to go around telling others that they cannot create their own tentacle ponies due to the fact that it’s her concept and a “closed species”. That’s like having Hasbro claim that you aren’t allowed to create colorful pony characters -with or without credit- simply because it was their idea first. It just doesn’t seem right.
Look, I understand that as an artist, you’d like to keep credit for your idea within your control, however you shouldn’t limit a person’s artistic freedom because of it. I’m sure many of her friends & admirers will most likely disagree, but this is my honest opinion on the matter.

I do agree. The only way you can own one is to buy it from her, I think? And of course, with her designs. That is completely unfair. I mean, sure, okay, you have a pony species, and you made it up, yay, yay. But not allowing other people to create their own fan characters is just ridiculous.
… And what is she gonna do if I create one? Sue me?
