To make this even more metal, that lunging gesture is common in bears as a threat display. In essence the bear is telling the children: I AM GOING TO SLAUGHTER EVERY LAST ONE OF YOU SO HELP ME. 

The children, meanwhile, are saying: BRING IT ON.
