Microsoft’s Xbox is going to die in roughly the same manner as Atari did.

In the eighties Atari was purchased by a business man who had no time for games. He turned Atari into a business computer company. The Atari 7800 was grossly under-budgeted and essentially lost all third party support to Nintendo.

Atari died a slow death due to more “serious” marketing. It got away from games. When it tried to come back, nobody cared. All that exists now is a pointless name.

Microsoft’s Xbox is now doing the same kind of thing. Instead of making games it is focusing on mass media and more “serious” business endeavors. Not only broadening it’s competition, but making a pretty worthless product when you can just buy a PC.

Sony is going to Nintendo the fuck out of the Xbox 7800.
