Just say that Android is more customizable, so you can get it to do exactly what you want.
I tried that. Even tried to say things like “There is practically no apps for this version of Symbian, and there is a lot for Android” blah, blah, blah… But try to explain that to someone who is using a Windows Mobile 6.1 phone.

The pegasus resurfaces on the other side of the lake and takes a moment to catch his breath “Well, we’re out” Looks around “Wait. Where’s V?”
Oh shoot! *Zephyr jumps back in the water. He finds Vindicar thrashing about, and he cuts the water plants holding Vindicar down, but he cut a little too deeply, and he nicked Vindicar’s leg a little bit. He resurfaces with Vindicar.* He got caught in the water plants near the entrance. He could have drowned!
Hippogriff just hungs from Zephyr’s back, coughing up water and gasping for air. Finally, he more or less returns to his senses and attempts to stand up. “Unholy stars… I really owe you one- ow!” Vindicar winces and looks at his hind leg.
“Now that’s…” he gasps for air again, “…kinda unfortunate. I could walk back to the City, but now I’ll have to wait until my wings dry.”
He lets out a sigh of relief seeing his friend safe “Thank goodness you’re alright… Mostly”
“I still think it may be impossible to extract magic from them. If they are ‘alive’ then it would be like saying ‘Let me extract the food you ate 3 days ago’. But who knows. For now I agree with Vindicar, we should get out.”
*Zephyr trips and nearly sticks himself on a crystal.* Whoa. That was a close one. Let’s get out of here. *Zephyr swims out.*
Hippogriff follows his friend, but doesn’t emerge on the other side. His hind leg got tangled in water plants, nothing serious… but hippogriff panicked and his frantic efforts to free himself are burning precious oxygen in his lungs.

May be. Who knows. At least this time I know that the artist is a girl.

And Zephyr, if me and V are right that they are absorbing magic and using it to grow, then it’s rather impossible to extract it back from them.
There’s a way, somehow. But I can imagine, someone could use this as a form of mass terrorism. If someone planted these in an area where there’s a lot of magical power being used, they could sap massive amounts of energy. It’s not good if it’s destroyed, but if they could actually steal it and harness it, someone could gain TREMENDOUS amounts of magical power, if it didn’t tear them apart. Someone like you or me could become as powerful as one of the royal siblings or Nightmare! Good thing we don’t know how to harvest magic from them, if it’s possible.
“Even without extracing the power these gems can be easily weaponised. Grind them to dust and spread - magic will be dumpened over large area and it will be nearly impossible to remove the dust. And since those grow, it’s easy to produce more of them…” hippogriff shudders. “Let’s get out of here.”

“Must be the water” Due to the hot spring the cave is rather warm. He then looks as the hippogriff touches a crystal. It’s surface doesn’t have any abnormal temperature, being the same as rocks and the air. His magic is not being sucked off either.
“Hey, I fish from this lake all the time. What if a little bit of my magic was being sucked off every time I went fishing? And what if instead of destroying it, it was storing it? Maybe I have some untapped magical power in here! Although it’s not probable, it’s possible. But how would we get the magic out?”
Vindicar shrugs and stands back on all fours. “I think they can effectively feed on magic only when you actually use it nearby. And ‘nearby’ is about ten meters, right, Pewny?”

The pegasus lands by the lake “Not surprising you didn’t know. To enter the cave you need to swim through a tunnel that is under the lake.” He smiles “And don’t worry Vindicar, it’s not really a long swim.”
Good thing I can swim then! *Zephyr dives in, and reaches the cave before either of them do.
Hippogriff awkwardly follows the pegasus through the passage. It looks as if he’s trying to fly underwater. Finally, he emerges as well, soaking wet and coughing water. “Zeph, I kinda asked you…” he stops as he looks at the cave. “oh wow…”
The trio emerges in a rather sizable cave. In the back they can hear bubbling of water from a small natural hot-spring. But the ceiling of the cave is what’s noticable the most. It’s literally FILLED with huge groupings off those red crystals, some of them up to five times larger than the biggest ones that Vindicar saw in Pewny’s workshop. They lightly shine, giving enough light to see around.
“Well, here we are gentlemen.”
He points to a rather large lake in the forest “It’s in that lake, we are not far from it”
That’s the lake I fish from. I never thought I’d be close to wherever this cave is.
Vindicar faceclaws. “Damn! I forgot it’s underwater.” He gives an awkward look to opinicus. “Zeph, um… watch my back down there, okay? I’m not a spectacularly good swimmer.” With that he descends towards the lake.
The pegasus lands by the lake “Not surprising you didn’t know. To enter the cave you need to swim through a tunnel that is under the lake.” He smiles “And don’t worry Vindicar, it’s not really a long swim.”
“I won’t lie V” He takes off into the air “I didn’t get in touch with Relena, but I kept a small crystal on the main floor of my workshop. Some Unicorns did pass by using magic… It’s not decisive yet as it may be just general measurement inaccuracies, but it seemed to get bigger by a milimeter or two.” He turns towards the Everfree, guiding the two.
*Zephyr follows the hippogriff and the pony. He pays no mind to what either of them are saying, although he does keep an ear out for if his name is mentioned, or if the conversation is directed towards him.*
As they fly over the Everfree, hippogriff seems to be rather quiet. Finally, he breaks the silence. “How far is it from here?”

Vindicar nods rather enthusiastically and follows the pegasus. “By the way, have you tried to determine if those crystals really grow?” He turns his head back to Zephyr and adds, “Pewny has found some curious magic-absorbing red gems. I really want to know if those are dangerous for Equestria…”

Nice to meet you, Pewny. *Zephyr holds out his paw* I don’t bite. Ponies aren’t part of my diet or anything. I only eat fish, and they’re not sentient. I also know the Everfree like the back of my paw.
Hippogriff smirks a bit. “If you need to prepare, we can wait. Just… not too long, okay?”
Pewny reaches out and grabs the paw with his hoof, he lightly chuckles “Don’t worry, I am aware of that” Then he adds towards Vindicar “Not really, I didn’t touch the project today so I can go immediately.”
Unlike the last time, the pegasus shows up “Yes?” He opens the door and sees Vindicar at first “Ah! V my friend, what brings yo-” at that moment he notices the another guest, his voice getting noticably nevous “-ou here? And… your friend?”
*Zephyr edges away slightly.* Hello… *Zephyr’s mind attempts to think of an excuse to leave. He’s obviously scaring the pony, and ponies do things when they get scared. He saw how ponies reacted whenever a bear came through town, or if there was a snake.*
Noticing the increasing tension, Vindicar steps forward. “Hey there, Pewny. I told Mythic everything, and decided to take a look at that cave myself before I give the samples to him. Just in case. If you have time, I’d appreciate you showing me where that cave is, or at least telling me how to get there.” He smirks and nods towards opinicus. “And that’s Zephyr, he is indeed a good friend of mine. Given our goal is in the Everfree, I thought it would be good to have him with us.”
